The Rutland Region Planning Commission (RRPC), The Workforce Investment Board (RRWIB), and the Chamber and Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) are working together with area partners to promote and support the Construction Trades and Health Care Industries in the Rutland Region.

The Following are the group’s three current Initiatives:

Workforce in Motion Summit

The Workforce In Motion’s flagship event is hosted annually by Chamber and Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR). Held on the Vermont State University Castleton Campus, prospective students and employers are given the opportunity to network at this exciting, hands-on, immersive experience prior to the start of the construction season.

The Workforce in Motion Academy

Students who are accepted into the Rutland Regional Planning Commission’s (RRPC) Workforce in Motion Academy (formerly the Education to Employment Bridge Program) receive free instruction, mentoring and support resources to prepare for a career in the trades. Upon successful completion graduates are introduced to local employers seeking highly qualified staff. Training is hands-on and is a terrific opportunity for those who learn best by “doing”!

Connecting Employers to Job-Ready Program Participants

Employers seeking well-qualified candidates have the opportunity to network with each other and the Workforce In Motion organizers to customize the program to meet the needs of the industry. The program offers an ongoing candidate pool of pre-qualified employees who have been instructed in, and certified for, the workforce they are entering.
