BuildRutland

BuildRutland is a hands-on construction course where students earn NCCER Construction Core and OSHA 10 Construction certifications while developing foundational skills in the trades. Students apply classroom learning in lab settings and gain an introduction to construction, electrical, and plumbing through practical, hands-on experiences. The course provides industry-recognized credentials and skills that prepare students for entry-level employment and future training opportunities in the skilled trades that are desirable or required by industry employers in our region.

According to the Vermont Department of Labor, careers in the construction, electrical, and plumbing industry are in high demand.  The annual projected job openings in Vermont for carpenters is 427 with a median wage of $29.91/hour.  Annual job openings for electricians are projected to be about 139 with a median wage of $28.69/hour while there are 93 expected openings for plumbers with a median wage of $29.11/hour.

This program is designed for students 18 and older.
